What was it like early in your relationship?
Kayla: “Justin lived in Pittsburgh, PA and I lived in Morgantown, WV (about an hour apart). We did ‘long’ distance for about 9 months. Justin’s family jokes that they knew he was serious about me because he was driving to Morgantown so much. He also did manual labor and shoveled my driveway after getting 4ft of snow. I like to joke that Justin chased me around before I finally gave in. But really, he legit followed me around one night, to the point that I had to squeeze a water bottle in his face to get him to leave me alone -haha!”
Name one thing you love about each other.
Kayla: “I love Justin’s ability to know me, better than I know myself! He is also an amazing provider and protector.”
Justin: “I love her for her kind heart and ability to take care of my family and me.”
Who proposed? How did they do it?
Kayla: “Justin proposed on September 24, 2017, in Miami, FL. We were staying at the Four Seasons the night before we were setting sail on a cruise to Cuba! Justin was so nervous that when we went to get down on one knee he broke the stem of his glass on the end table and champagne spilled all over me! I jumped up quickly and that’s when Justin said, ‘well I was going to ask you to marry me!’ I was completely surprised.”
What’s next for the two of you?
Kayla: “We will continue to take care of Ray, Justin’s grandfather who lives with us. Hopefully, babies will be in our future soon to join the party! I also, just got my real estate license in the mail a couple of days after our honeymoon. Lots of new adventures to come!”
Look closely and you’ll see Grandpa Ray’s face on that dollar bill. Kayla & Justin had several variations printed with different denominations all with Grandpa Ray’s face wearing different presidential hairstyles!!
