A Mountain Top Wedding at Twickenham House | Jefferson, NC

How did you two meet?

Paige: “We met at the University of Tennessee at a house party and hit it off almost instantly. We started texting and hanging out regularly starting the very next day, and we just never stopped.”

Proposal Story?

Paige: “We had always discussed getting married, and it became an understanding early on that we would eventually be married. This mentality resulted in one of the most casual proposal stories of all time. I actually aided in picking out my own engagement ring. If I am going to wear it forever, I better like it right?! So we went back and forth and created it together. He held onto it for about a month after we bought it and handed it to me on a random Tuesday night. I believe I was wearing sweatpants, and then we binged Bob’s Burgers for the rest of the night. We still like to laugh about it.”

Name one thing you love about each other.

Joe: “I love her sense of humor and her ability to take a joke and laugh at herself. It’s really nice to have someone who understands sarcasm and who will throw it right back at you.”

Paige: “I love his patience. Joe stays calm in the most frustrating circumstances and is amazing at putting himself in others’ shoes.”

What was the inspiration behind your wedding day?

We both come from somewhat large families and wanted the day to be a fun gathering of the people we love. It ended up feeling like a blended family reunion, which was exactly what we had both envisioned and always talked about.

Most memorable moment of the day?

Joe: “Finally putting on the suit and realizing, ‘I am actually getting married today.'”

Paige: “That’s a tossup between Joe’s impromptu wedding speech at the reception and the marvelous champagne tower.”

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

Paige: “Do not sweat over the little wedding details or worry about what every guest is thinking or feeling. It’s a very important day for you both, so do what you have to do to just have a great time.”

Funniest moment of the day?

Paige: “Joe walking into my room first thing in the morning and handing me a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee as if nothing unusual was happening that day. He had to be kicked out by bridesmaids.”

Most embarrassing moment of the day?

Paige: “Joe ruining the top tier of the wedding cake by just grabbing it with his hand and slamming it on the table. It confused everyone and now we do not get to eat our saved wedding cake on our one year!”

Thanks to all of the vendors who made this day possible!

A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.
