What was the inspiration behind your day?
Kayla: “While dating, we took a lot of trips to Surf City Beach and the mountains. I love both but Alex prefers the mountains. Originally we planned a beach wedding and due to the hurricane messing up the venue, we moved it to the mountains just 6 weeks before the wedding and had to change the original date from November 3, 2018, to November 4, 2018. We had to replan everything including finding new vendors. Thankfully everything came together quickly and smoothly. It was clear that God just had other plans for our special day and it couldn’t have turned out any more perfect. The mountain views in the background with the fall colors were absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.”
How did you choose your wedding day look?
Kayla: “I chose my dress based on what looked best on me, I didn’t go shopping with any particular look in mind. When I tried mine on, I knew it was the one. I always knew I wanted my hair up for my wedding day so I just picked my favorite updo. We chose the grooms look based on our wedding colors Tiffany blue, grey and white. The light grey went perfectly with the dresses my MOH & bridesmaids wore.”
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Kayla: “Enjoy the planning even though it can make life crazy busy and a little stressful at times and remember that your day will turn out perfect even if everything doesn’t go exactly as planned.”
Most memorable moment of your day?
Alex: “The most memorable moment of the day was watching Kayla walk down the aisle. I was really eager for that moment.”Kayla: “For me, it was walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Alex’s face and how happy he was. I also loved how my dad shook Alex’s hand as he handed me off.”
Funniest moment of the day?
Kayla: “The funniest moment of the day was when Alex’s great aunt Eleanor was trying to teach me and Alex to dance.”
